The Applause Society builds audiences for tomorrow with programmes for
today's community.
ACCESS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
The Applause Society's Accessibility Programme reaches out to young
theatregoers with mild to severe hearing loss by providing special
sign-language interpreted performances of theatre shows. Most of
these young people are first-time theatregoers. These services are
available on demand with advanced notice and provided at no cost to
the theatregoer.
DRAMA DIALOGUES
Drama Dialogue is an enrichment programme for Society members. These
sessions, held at various times throughout the year, will offer our
valued membership a chance to enrich their theatregoing experience by
providing open discussions between the members and theatre
professionals. Aimed at curious, interested and intelligent theatre
patrons, these moderated conversations will take place at the Annexe
Gallery in Central Market. Refreshments will be served.
INTERNSHIPS
The Applause Society's Internship Programme offers a unique and
challenging experience for qualified college students and recent
graduates who are actively pursuing careers in professional theatre.
Applause internships require that each intern be mature, self-reliant,
articulate, able to work effectively in a highly collaborative
environment and demonstrate competence in their specific area of
interest.
Internships are unpaid and academic credit is awarded at the
discretion of the intern’s college or university. The Applause
Society does not provide housing or housing stipends. Applicants must
be at least 18 years of age. Download Internship Application Form. |
